HELPING HANDS MISSION

ELBF FOREIGN MISSIONS
Beginnings and Current Status of our Missions Arm
In January of 2004 God led the Evangelical Lutheran Bible Fellowship (ELBF) into Missions. It all began with a request to the Evangelical Lutheran Bible School on December 26, 2003. Rev. Mundiah director of Glory of Christ Ministry (GCM) had become aware of the Evangelical Lutheran Bible School through our ELBF monthly publication, the "Revival Tidings." He wrote and expressed his desire to send a deacon from his church to attend our Bible School if we would help pay the students airfare, lodging and tuition fees. We did not have the funds to do this so we suggested the possibility of offering Bible studies via the Internet. If he was interested, we would develop a Long Distance Learning Bible Program for Glory of Christ Ministry. Ps. Mundiah jumped at the opportunity and we began developing Internet Bible studies. As our relationship began to grow, we were made aware of the many needs of GCM. They were a small organization ministering to the poor people of Central Western Kenya in the Kitale/Liyavo/El Dorett/Bungoma area with very little funds. God impressed upon our hearts that we being chosen to help GCM. This in brief was the beginning of the Evangelical Lutheran Bible Fellowship Foreign Missions Department. The ELBF began raising small amounts of money to assist GCM. They had three congregations at that time and rented 5 acres of land to help support their ministry. In January of 2004 they had no equipment other than a worn out generator, keyboard, small amplifier, and loudspeaker. Shortly thereafter, GCM became the Foreign Mission Work of theEvangelical Lutheran Bible Fellowship. With the help of the ELBF and the mighty hand of God, Glory of Christ ministry began to grow at at a rate that exceeded our expectations. How can one thank God for such an awesome work. Due to this rapid expansion, a need for a mission are of the ELBF developed.

In the spring of 2009 the Evangelical Lutheran Bible Fellowship established Helping Hands Mission Inc. as their mission arm. In the fall of 2009, Glory of Christ Ministry, Kitale, Kenya, a branch of the Evangelical Lutheran Bible Fellowship, changed its name to Helping Hands Mission, Kenya as an extension of Helping Hands Mission in the USA. They are no longer a branch but part of the Helping Hands Mission organization located in Princeton, MN.

At the end of November 2009, Helping Hands Mission (HHM) had  thirty growing congregations with over                                                                                                                                                                      6000 registered members and average of approximately 4,500 plus attending Sunday morning worship services.

Listed below is in part what God has accomplished through the Helping Hands organization.

- Three Christian Schools, one at the Liyavo church and one at the Kakichuma church.
- A polytechnic (Sewing School) has been built in Kakichuma.
- In 2007 a new permanent headquarters’ office, that includes a director's home with guest rooms, and a HHM
library filled with conservative liturature and books that was started and completed in 2008.
- In 2007 a large home on the headquarters’ property was completely refurbished inside and out  and now
expanded to house 72 orphans. It is called the Helping Hands Children's Home.
- Three large brick built churches were finished that hold 400 - 500 each by African standards.
- A new brick built church was constructed at Moroki after the old mud church was washed away by the rains.
- HHM now rents 90 acres of land on which Maize and beans are planted.
- We have a tractor, plow, tiller, large heavy duty wagon, and weed sprayers to work the land.
- We have a car, motorcycle, and 4-wheel drive pickup truck to facilitate the travel and transporting of
   equipment and people.
- Bicycles were purchased so every HHM Kenya pastor has one for his ministry.
- Currently, cows are being purchased for our pastors. Our goal is to give each of our thirty pastors a cow.
The tractor and related equipment, animal projects, schools, and truck are being used to earn money for the HHM  in addition to being used for their own needs. Our goal is to have HHM Kenya become self-sufficient by 2015 with the exception of the Children's Home that will more than likely need support for some time to come.

The HHM has a reputation of being an organization that preaches the truth from God's Word without comprimise. More and more people want to form congregations under the HHM banner in Kenya because of their conservative and unwavering Biblical stand. Helping Hands Mission is supported by people from different denominations who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and have a heart for the lost.

How did this all come about in such a short time? God blesses those who are faithful to Him. He has blessed the ELBF and its mission arm Helping Hands Mission with partners in ministry who truly care about lost souls. If you are a person who is concerned for lost souls and looking for a Mission Organization that is on the move, we would like to hear from you. Click on Contacts for phone and email information. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
